It takes
self-discipline to make the proper decisions when it comes to eating certain
foods that fuel your prostate. Would you put regular or premium unleaded gas in
a luxurious sports car? A high
performance sports car requires high octane fuel to work effectively. Your body is no different. Your body requires proper sleep, nutrients,
water, and exercise to function at optimum levels. Imagine your prostate gland being similar to
a fuel filter. The red fuel filter light
illuminates when contaminants are present in the fuel line. Frequent urination is the red blinking light
staring at you in the face letting you know that your enlarged prostate
requires better fuel. If you suffer from
an enlarged prostate then you need to make better decisions when choosing
prostate foods.
An effective
prostate diet requires a great deal of self-discipline and control. What if you were told that your prostate
problems would diminish if you abstained from eating bread, potatoes, pasta,
rice, crackers, chips, cheese, red meat or drinking soda, coffee, beer or
liquor for 30 days? Could you do
it? When you think of self-discipline
images of monks meditating all day may come to mind but in reality the art of
discipline all boils down to a simple yes or no decision. For example, as you go through a drive-thru
window at a fast food restaurant, the person taking the order may ask, “Do you
want to try our Mega Cheese Burger deal for only $3.99?” At this point you have a decision to
make: Yes, I will take and eat that Mega
Cheese Burger and feel like crap all day or No, I will take and eat the Grilled
Chicken Salad instead and feel better all day.
It’s your choice but more importantly it’s your decision.
Self-discipline
is a daily battle that can be won by making the right decisions. Decisions are a daily occurrence and your
decision-making skills are a reflection of who you are. If you have ever been told that you look
great for your age then maybe you are making the right decisions in terms of
your health. However, if you have been
told that you need to lose a little weight then maybe you should consider your
decisions that have been made throughout your life which have guided you to
your present state. If you are a
middle-aged man and you want your prostate to work like it did when you were
younger then you need to start making better decisions with regards to your
health.
The secret to
self-discipline is having a goal that you truly believe in. If your goal is to have a healthier prostate
then you need to start making better decisions with regards to your diet. There are virtually thousands of prostate
supplements on the market but they have little to know effect on improving prostate health due to the lack of a
sustained diet. An anti-inflammation
diet (either a low-glycemic or Zone diet) with a balanced carbohydrate,
protein, and fat ratio is a must if you want to make a difference. You must be able to make decisions like a
computer (either 1 = yes or 0 = no) with respect to prostate food choices. Living with a chronic condition like an
enlarged prostate didn’t happen overnight so it’s going to take some time
before you start seeing improvements.
However, having the self-discipline along with the determination to
achieving your goal will ultimately yield success. A healthy prostate is possible, how bad do
you want it?
