The Diets for Patients with Breast Cancer during Chemotherapy

Many patients with breast cancer will have a certain cycle of chemotherapy. However, in the process of killing tumor cells, chemotherapy will also cause some side effects such as decreased immunity, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, decreased leukopenia, etc., affecting the normal conduction of chemotherapy. Therefore, we should pay attention to conditioning diets during chemotherapy, physical recovery, and strengthening the immune system, thus successfully completing the chemotherapy

1. The nutrition should be adequate. Patients with breast cancer generally are weak, so we should appropriately increase the intake of protein and sugar during chemotherapy, and eat less high-fat and high-cholesterol foods. In particular, we should ensure the intake of protein and eat some lean pork meat, beef, chicken or fish, etc.; not to eat fried foods and eat less pickled food; not to eat strongly irritant foods.
Pay attention to diet diversification; match meat with vegetables; keep acid-base balance; pay attention to the color, smell and taste of foods. Anorexia patients can eat appropriate hawthorn, radish, kumquat and other food benefiting the stomach, thus increasing the appetite of patients.

2. Eat more foods being rich in anti-cancer compounds. Studies have shown that the following types of foods have a preventive effect for breast cancer patients.

(1) Cabbage, Chinese cabbage, and wild cabbage contain anti-cancer substances indole-3-methanol, which can prevent carcinogen-induced tumor cells in vivo, inhibiting tumor growth.

(2) Garlic and onions contain allicin, which can block the synthesis of N-nitrosamines; it also contains vitamin C, vitamin A and other ingredients, which can play a role of anti-cancer.

Reduce Your Breast Cancer Risk, Safely and Naturally

Maintaining optimum cellular health throughout the entire body can greatly reduce your risk of developing a number of age-related diseases and health conditions, namely cancer. Keeping your cells functioning properly, with all organs and systems working in balanced harmony, is the foundation for radiant health and well being. However, we do not always experience a perfect state of health, and appreciation for good health often doesn’t exist without episodes of illness. For so many of us in today’s world, it is only when we are faced with a serious diagnosis or a chronic, persistent condition that we finally take action and commit ourselves to a healing path. One particularly prevalent health condition that more and more women are facing today is breast cancer, and chances are good that you or someone you love is struggling with this frightening diagnosis.

The Importance of Essential Fatty Acids and Omega-3
When it comes to the prevention and treatment of breast cancer, one of the most important factors to address is your diet. Proper diet and supplementation can have profound benefits for improving overall health and for preventing and treating numerous chronic and deadly health conditions. Many natural compounds and ingredients have been shown to help address breast cancer, and one of the most well researched is fish oil, which is rich in Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs), mainly omega-3. Results of numerous studies indicate that this popular and extensively researched supplement shows promise in helping to reduce a woman’s risk of developing breast cancer. In addition to reducing risk of breast cancer, studies reveal that the anti-inflammatory effects of the omega-3 fats found in fish oil have powerful additional health benefits for those suffering with other serious conditions such as heart disease, fatigue, depression, arthritis, and much more.

Numerous studies have demonstrated the powerful ability of DHA and EPA (omega-3 fats in fish oil) to lower inflammation in the body and help maintain appropriate levels of free radicals. Given the positive analysis of the omega-3 fats in fish oil, some doctors do promote the use of these

Using Radiation to Treat Breast Cancer

About 25% of mastectomy patents are considered to be at high risk of a breast cancer recurrence following surgery. Radiation following surgery can reduce the risk of breast cancer recurrence by about 70%. Studies have shown that even women with very small cancers (less than half an inch) benefit from having radiation following surgery.

Radiation, also called radiotherapy, targets any malignant cells left over after cancer surgery. Individual cells missed during surgery can continue to replicate and grow form a new tumor. In the case of breast cancer, radiation may also be delivered to the nearby lymph nodes under the arm.

Radiation treatment is used to treat all forms of breast cancer, from stage 0 to stage IV cancers, following either a lumpectomy (surgical removal of the lump) or a mastectomy (removal of the entire breast).

The combination of radiation and a lumpectomy is often called breast-preservation surgery. A number of studies have established that a lumpectomy followed by radiation is as effective a breast cancer treatment as a complete mastectomy and radiation for non-invasive cancer.

The type of radiation used to treat breast cancer is not to be confused with the radiation from bombs or nuclear reactors. Highly focused and controllable, it is delivered in a special, invisible high-energy beam. Radiation therapy is painless, although some people feel a slight warmth or tingling.

Radiation is normally well-tolerated, with any side effects limited to the treated area. Unlike chemotherapy, radiation does not cause your hair to fall out.

Side Effects Of Breast Cancer Hormone Therapy Chemotherapy

Breast cancer is usually separated into invasive and noninvasive types. Invasive breast cancer spreads from its original site to the surrounding tissues. Invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) is the most frequent type of breast cancer in women. On the other hand, noninvasive cancer cells are unable to spread and are confined to their original site. Risk factors of cancer include hereditary, age over 50, early menstruation, late menopause, exposure to radiation therapy, history of hormone replacement therapy, late or no childbirth, and alcohol use.

Breast can be treated successfully if detected early. It is highly advised that every woman should get familiar with their breasts and check them regularly for any abnormal changes. Self breast exam is the best way to detect the early signs of cancer. Actually, the proportion of deaths caused by breast cancer is now decreasing, mainly due to the increased awareness among the women and advanced breast cancer treatment options.

Women who discover a lump or any other abnormality in their breasts are recommended to visit their doctor as soon as possible.

Side Effects of Breast Cancer: Although it can be effectively cured, the treatment can cause several physical, psychological, and psychosocial effects. This noxious disease can lead to several changes in the body, such as loss of the affected breast, and weight changes. Breast cancer treatment often causes premature menopause and menopausal symptoms. The patients who undergo radiation therapy for breast cancer may suffer from fatigue, a red-colored scar on the breasts, changes in the size and appearance of the breast, and lymphoedema or collection of fluids in the tissues. There is also a risk for damage to other organs like heart and lungs and breaking of ribs.

Armpit Abnormal Pain May Be Breast Disease

Armpit pain is the signs of a lot of breast disease, so if our armpit has unusual feeling, not as a trivial matter. The ipsilateral breast is close to the ipsilateral armpit, so the blood supply to the breast, lymph reflux and the contribution of nerve are closely related with the armpit.

Such as acute mastitis, the inflammation often spread to the ipsilateral armpit lymph modes by lymphatic, causing the armpit lymph swelling and pain. Mammary gland hyperplasia and other diseases, due to glandular periodic congestion, edema and other changes, causing the breast has paroxysmal pain.

Breast cancer such as breast cancer, the initial transfer is often the first through the lymphatic metastasis to the ipsilateral armpit lymph nodes. And sometimes the primary breast tumor is small, we still cannot touch the lump on the breast, and when armpit lymph node swelling and pain has occurred, patients often go to see the doctors with chief complaint of pain, allowing physicians to early detection of breast cancer.

When the doctors do radical surgery for breast cancer, regardless of armpit lymph nodes are asymptomatic, which should be completely cleaned.

Therefore, when people are at middle-age, they have to always touch your armpits, if you feel painful or have swollen lymph nodes, you should as soon as possible to the hospital for further examination and treatment, which is also the easy way to check breast by your own.
For now middle-aged women, breast cancer is a high incidence of disease, which is a kind of staggering disease.

In fact, in the early stages of breast cancer, if it is detected early, then the patient through surgery to eradicate the disease. If you do not care about your chest pain or abnormal lump, then it may deepen the disease, so that the final condition will be deteriorated, and to the irreversible stage.

So, for women, we should pay more attention to the changes in our chest. If we have a pain in the breast in a row, or have a hard object in the breast, we should see a doctor immediately. Do not wait until the pain was unbearable and then we think of to see a doctor. At that time, it will be too late.
